Our Development Road Map

Free invoicing software

Woman creating an invoice with Tuaneka

This is a story about our journey so far.Where we are as of 26/03/2015 and where we will be in the next 10 years.

I’m Alfred. Tuaneka.com’s founder. I’ll help clarify the following:

– Who we are and what our aspirations are .

– How will we generate revenue with a “Free business model”

– Our mission and reason for existence and how important you, our customers, are to helping us get there.

Why is Tuaneka Free?

Tuaneka is a late entrant into a crowded market place. It would be foolish for us to offer our customers a paid product where there are free alternatives that are equally as good. Case in point, wave.

The other reason is that we are not really trying to build an invoicing and accounting platform to compete with the large established brands like Wave and Xero. Far from it!

What we are trying to build is Africa’s largest freelance market place. Our invoices are just step one in our journey.

When we finally achieve our aim of building the market place Africa deserves, our ultimate goal will be to make sure that African freelancers and service providers keep 100% of their earnings for every project or service they provide.

So How Will Tuaneka Make Money?

If I had a dollar for every time  I was asked this question, I would definitely not need this side hustle. I know this may sound counter intuitive but I am really not doing this for the money (and believe me I need the money). I am building this as a service for other freelancers like myself who have been ripped of by other freelance platforms like Upwork, Fiver, Freelancer and the other big players in the industry. They charge up to 20% on every invoice and they make no apologies for it.

Tuaneka.com, will have one subscription plan – every subscribed member will have access to every new feature as long as they are subscribed, forever!

We are building a customer focused business and we are in it for the long haul

There is no such thing as an overnight success. Sometimes by the time a company comes into the “consciousness” of the general public, the company has been working tirelessly for at least 10 years, some times even more!

In these days of Unicorns and Venture capitalists throwing money everywhere (and hoping it sticks), we are proud to say we are self funded and we intend to remain so until we find an investor who believes in the “long wait” and who buys into our vision for a customer focused user driven freelance market place, built by Africans for Africans and open to business with the world.

We are not based in Silicon Valley, we are based in Accra, Ghana. We don’t have fancy degrees from Ivy league colleges, we are University of Ghana graduates. We understand that we might not fit the stereotypical start-up. What we do have is years of experience working in difficult conditions with little to no funding and bucket loads of raw determination to succeed at all costs.
